What residents can expect from one another.

POPS House is a peer-supported, structured living environment. These expectations give everyone a clear, shared starting point for safety, respect, accountability, and community.

ZERO TOLERANCE

Safety, dignity, and privacy are the foundation of this home.

No weapons, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or alcohol on or around the property.
Violent, aggressive, intimidating, or threatening behavior is prohibited.
Residents may not share, sell, distribute, or store another person's medication.
Residents may not enter another resident's bedroom without authorization.
Inappropriate romantic or sexual advances toward residents or staff are prohibited.

SAFETY & SECURITY

Small daily habits help everyone feel secure and at home.

Entry and exit doors must remain closed and locked.
Smoking is permitted only in the designated outdoor area.
Spills must be reported and cleaned immediately.
Floors, hallways, and common areas must remain clear of items that could create trip or slip hazards.
Residents must follow established nightly check-in procedures.

SUBSTANCE-FREE EXPECTATIONS

A substance-free environment supports stability, trust, and shared progress.

Alcohol is prohibited on the property.
Smoking is permitted only in the designated outdoor area.
Residents are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Testing may be required following approved overnight passes or extended trips.

HOUSE CONDUCT

POPS House is a structured, working home where residents contribute to their own next chapter.

Participation in employment, school, volunteering, or an approved program is expected when applicable.
Reasonable exceptions may apply based on an individual's circumstances and applicable requirements.
Theft or misuse of another person's belongings is prohibited.
Appropriate clothing must be worn outside private bedrooms.
Personal belongings should not be left unattended in common areas.
Resident entry and exit hours are 6:00 AM–12:00 AM, subject to approved exceptions.

CLEANLINESS & CHORES

Shared responsibility keeps the home comfortable for everyone.

Food is not permitted in bedrooms.
Shared spaces should be cleaned immediately after use.
Bedrooms must remain clean and orderly.
Residents are responsible for completing assigned household chores.

BEDROOMS & PERSONAL SPACE

Private spaces deserve care, privacy, and clear boundaries.

Mattress covers must remain in place.
Bedroom doors should remain closed when appropriate.
Residents are responsible for securing valuables and personal belongings.
Rooms may be inspected by management in accordance with POPS House policies and applicable requirements.

HYGIENE & HEALTH

Thoughtful hygiene practices protect individual and community well-being.

Residents are expected to maintain appropriate personal hygiene.
Diapers and personal hygiene products must be disposed of properly.
Medical sharps must be stored and disposed of using approved sharps containers.

LAUNDRY

Laundry routines help keep a shared resource fair, clean, and available.

Laundry facilities may only be used during assigned days and times.
Residents should wash only their own clothing unless otherwise authorized.
Heavily contaminated or feces-soiled items may not be washed in household laundry machines.

GUESTS & OVERNIGHT PASSES

Clear communication protects the rhythm and privacy of the home.

Guests are not permitted inside the residence unless specifically authorized by POPS House policy.
Overnight passes require prior approval and may be subject to eligibility requirements.

MEETINGS

House meetings create space for shared problem-solving and progress.

Residents are expected to participate in required weekly house meetings.
Meetings provide an opportunity to discuss house concerns, grievances, expectations, responsibilities, progress, and successes.
